The time hasn’t even changed yet, but the day is already getting away from me. I almost forgot to send this newsletter out!
GAH!
The leaves are starting to fill the lawn and my husband is groaning about it, but my kids had a frolic-fest on a particularly windy day this weekend.
I sympathize with the yard work needing to be done, but I side with the kids - I’m so excited that autumn is almost here!
The mornings have felt very autumnal lately and inspired me to start decorating.
Here’s a snippet of my front porch:
I love my little guard crow.
He glares down everyone who dares approach my door, lol! NO SOLICITING.
I’m hoping he holds on during the chilly, windy days coming. Actually, I might need to secure him better so I don’t lose him…
Anyway, I haven’t done my mantle yet, but I did the entry.
What do you think?
Can you tell we love cute ghosts in this house?
I’m hoping to get all my fall/cozy halloween up in the next week, but my kids have stolen all the pumpkins and ghosts and put them in their rooms. I guess I’ll use whatever is left?
Just a bunch of cute ghosts and cute thieves among us here!
To celebrate the changing seasons, I recently bought some candles from a little shop in England called YR Studio.
I’ve been eyeing them for well over a year and finally pushed purchase! Obviously I’ve been using this one because it’s September and I’m IN THE MOOD, LOL!
Anyway, enough small talk. Let’s get down to business!
First up in news….
There’s a new book festival in town called the North Georgia Regional Book Fair, and it takes place this Saturday, September 14, at the University of North Georgia!
If you’re in the Dahlonega area, please come by and see me! I have new swag! It’s quite fanceh.
I’m doing a giveaway that includes a $25 amazon gift card and a signed paperback!
I’ll even be participating in a world-building panel with fellow fantasy authors Meg M. Robinson and Christy Healy.
They’ve been fun to email with back and forth, so it’ll be interesting actually meeting them IRL. Since it’s an inaugural event, I’ll be sure to share lots of photos and the 411 of how it went in my next newsletter.
Feel free to follow me on Instagram if the suspense will kill you!
In other news…I’m going to be a yoga teacher!
ALSO THIS WEEKEND, I start my yoga teacher training with the YTT Collective! I’m feeling all the feels with this one - excited/terrified!
It’s strange because I’ve been practicing yoga now for 20 years. You’d think I would be certified already, but I’m not. Even though I’ve had countless teachers ask if I wanted to get certified, I was never interested before six months ago.
It just makes so much sense for me to finally take the leap since I do love yoga (although not as much as writing, come on!), and I could see myself helping others exercise in a way that has done wonders for me mentally and physically through the years!
I’ve got 3 months of training every weekend, so this fall is looking very busy over here. My wonderful husband is going to be solo parenting for us during those days, so please pray for him!
We have a cute but tough crew. SOS, y’all!
What Am I Reading?
Ummm, what’s reading?
To be fair, my local library opened up a few weeks ago after a 2 year renovation, so I just got my card back. Hopefully I can put it to work!
I do have to read five books for YTT, but they’ll be the dreaded NON-FICTION, which is a bit hard for me.
What Am I Writing?
Y’ALL!!!!!!
I just finished first round of developmental edits for RECKLESS TRUTH. I realize I should be further along and all, but I’m moving at a respectable pace considering I only edit once or twice a week.
I’m hoping to be through the first revisions at the end of the month, but we’ll see.
I recently shared my first ever book trailer for RECKLESS TRUTH, and I am ecstatic at how it turned out.
It has a very epic vibe with the music incorporated, so I hope reading it feels the same. I wish I could share it on here directly, but the music is licensed so I can only share the Instagram version.
I’ll just say it: if you’re not using Canva to design stuff, you’re missing out!
Well, I hope to see you on Saturday,
